The Board of Directors praised the SFA for its continued commitment to Vision 2030, its recent awards, youth programs, and impactful partnerships
The Saudi Sports for All Federation Board of Directors met for its second quarterly meeting of 2021, with the Federation receiving praise for its achievements during the past four months.
The meeting was Chaired by Federation President, HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, with attending members including Saudi Ambassador to the United States, and former SFA President, HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, Mr. Firass Alkassim, Dr. Ghazi bin Zager, Mr. Ayman Alfallaj, Ms. Lina Almaeena, and Mr. Fawaz Farooqui.
During the meeting, Prince Khaled lauded the Federation for inspiring people across the Kingdom to undertake regular physical activity and ensure sports and exercise are made available to all members of society.
These efforts were especially pertinent in Q2 as the SFA joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the fifth anniversary of Vision 2030. The Board noted the Federation’s commitment to helping achieve Vision 2030 objectives, as mandated by the Ministry of Sport through the Quality of Life program to increase the ratio of individuals exercising at least once a week to 40% by 2030.
To highlight this commitment, the Board heard how the SFA had encouraged young people to stay active through its sports-themed Summer Camps program for children aged 5-17, which took place across Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar between July and August. In addition to spotlighting the continued engagement with the Step Together walk-run series.
Prince Khaled also congratulated the Federation on the plethora of awards it has received in recent months, including three silvers and a bronze award for brand and visual creativity at the Transform Awards MEA 2021, and the gold award for the best e-sports campaign at the 2021 Sport Industry Awards for its Move to Game campaign, which is run in partnership with the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF).
The Board was also updated about the SFA’s MoUs with Arabian Centres and King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD); two of a growing number of partnerships designed to create a framework of cooperation that promotes active and healthy lifestyles.
Prince Khaled concluded the meeting by thanking the board members for their continued support, insight, and direction.
