Kids visited Friends of Jeddah park to learn about staying active and healthy!
The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) participated in a Sports Equipment Program held at Amira Al Tarabulsi Public Park in Jeddah from October 16-17, 2020.
The event, a knowledge-sharing initiative, marked the first tie-up between the SFA and the Friends of Jeddah park. Over the course of the two days, 500 bags of athletic gear were presented to children, helping encourage adoption of an active lifestyle as part of the Back to School Giving Program. In support of the SFA’s healthy and active community, PepsiCo was onsite as the exclusive F&B partner at the event.
Individual bags provided each child the perfect starter kit to kick start their fitness journey. Each package included a sport string bag, a basketball, a soccer ball, a water bottle, a jump rope, a cap, and a mask. The giveaways also included refreshments: Aquafina water and Sunbites. Children are able to enjoy these items wherever they are to keep them fit and entertained!
Over the past 10 years, Friends of Jeddah Parks has hosted successful events with as many as 1,000 attendees. The event was designed to ensure the safety of everyone attending, so only 50 children were welcomed per session allowing everyone to comfortably maintain a 2 meter distance from other attendees.
The venue walkways are wide enough to maintain social adequate distancing and has two separate access points for entry and exit to avoid congestion at any point. Team members were on hand to escort the children to the relevant areas where they had an informative talk about staying active safely and receive their sports packages.
