The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) announced its upcoming hosting of the 2025 Asian Functional Fitness Championships (iF3 Asian Championships), to be held from October 2 to 4 at the Green Halls in Riyadh. The championship will bring together 70 athletes representing various Asian federations, including Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Australia, Uzbekistan, Iran, Pakistan, South Korea, Mongolia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.
HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, President of SFA and Board Member of iF3, extended his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their tremendous support of community sports, enabling Saudi Arabia to host this major championship.
HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed stated:
“Hosting this championship in Riyadh marks a pivotal step toward achieving the Vision 2030 objectives of building a healthier and more active society. We take pride in being the national entity fostering functional fitness and positioning Saudi Arabia as a leader in shaping a more vibrant and dynamic future for the region and the world.”
Ms. Shaima Al-Husseini, SFA Managing Director, stated:
“The Asian Functional Fitness Championship represents a pivotal milestone in the journey of community sports in the Kingdom. It is not merely a fitness competition, but an event that demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to making sports a way of life for all communities. This championship will inspire youth, women, and diverse segments of society to participate actively in functional fitness activities. It also reflects the Kingdom’s ability to host international championships to global standards, strengthening its position as a leading destination for sporting events in the region.
The 2025 iF3 Asian Championships is organized under the supervision of the iF3. This year’s edition will focus on testing key elements of functional fitness, including endurance, strength, skill, and agility, as athletes compete for the championship title. The competition features exercises enhancing daily functional movement and training muscle coordination for optimum performance.
SFA – the national governing body for functional fitness in Saudi Arabia – became an official member of the iF3 in June 2023. This membership underscores SFA’s vital role in building a healthy and active society, by promoting physical activity and increasing participation levels across Saudi Arabia, in line with the goals of Vision 2030.
