The Ministry of Sports (MoS), headed by Minister HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, announced a new initiative to take place virtually on a daily basis. The #Fit_Link program, to be broadcast via YouTube and Instagram, presents trainers from Fitness Time, a national chain of gyms in Saudi Arabia.
The trainers will appear daily at 5pm and 9pm respectively, hoping to provide a source of motivation and accessibility for those who want to continue to work out at home. This latest MoS program builds on the E-Gym and Home Run initiatives that ran in May 2020. The E-gym program offered various types of exercise through a digital portal allowing access to professional coaches through Instagram Live and Zoom along with question and answer sessions. The Virtual Home Run offered a number of events that catered for all levels of runners.
All of these programs were staged alongside the nationwide fitness phenomenon Baytak Nadeek by the Saudi Sports for All Federation. In collaboration with MoS and the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Baytak Nadeek had a rollout of numerous phases: the Ramadan initiative of Move to Donate with the Saudi Food Bank, Move to Game with SAFEIS, and the university challenge with SUSF.
Most recently, the Baytak Nadeek corporate challenge wrapped up with home workouts contributed by employees of PepsiCo Arabia, Qiddiya, The Red Sea Development Company, Halwani Brothers, Riyadh Bank, NEOM, Binzagr Company, STC, Saudi British Bank (SABB), and more!
