The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) has launched a new campaign comprising 24 short films, with each highlighting the success of a specific community sports group (CSG). These films will be published online, alongside the Paris Olympics this summer. CSGs are defined by the SFA as independent groups of three or more people regularly engaging in sports, involving such activities as basketball, football, hiking, hockey, martial arts, pickleball, walking, and tennis, as demonstrated by the film series. The SFA currently supports 1800 groups, covering 30 sports and 50,000+ members, helping to promote and organize events, as well as raise awareness. Each of the films shows the members of the CSG in action, partaking in their chosen sport, with commentary from the group’s founder. The campaign proves that anyone can be active, regardless of age, gender, ability, location, or nationality. One of the films spotlights the RWG Women’s Fitness Community, showcasing the development of women in sport in Saudi Arabia, with 80% of CSGs across the Kingdom now catering to females. CSGs are integral to the SFA’s mission, mandated by the Ministry of Sport as part of the Vision 2030 Quality of Life Program to increase the percentage of individuals engaged in physical activity at least once a week to 40% by 2030. Since its inception in 2018, the SFA has launched numerous innovative initiatives, significantly boosting public participation and raising awareness about the positive impact of sports on physical and mental well-being.
