Ten online trainings were themed with different SDGs

Three Saudi Greens team members, Maram Adel Albutairi, Lujain MohammadAli Kashgari, and Roaa Hamza Qattan, performed the only Arabic-language sessions for the Global Goals World Cup Clubhouse (GGWCup).

A virtual fitness program aimed at spreading awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through football, the GGWCup Clubhouse took place over the course of a month. The 10 sessions staged by Albutairi, Qattan, and Kashgari were held with the goal of engaging the wider MENA region in the online activation, matching physical activity with global betterment.

Each session spotlighted a different football topic while addressing a particular SDG in line with the Clubhouse program’s wider aims. A few of the SDGs chosen by the Greens included: #3 Good Health and Wellbeing, #6 Clean Water and Sanitation, and #8 Decent Work and Economic Growth.

The series ran from June 9 and ended July 9, with the full Saudi Greens workouts catalogued on the team’s Instagram page (see the set of virtual training videos by clicking here).

Previously, the Saudi Greens team focused on SDG #15 Life on Land, placing second in the 2019 GGWCup tournament in New York City staged on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
