Riyadh Public Parks Get Moving with SFA’s “Steps Challenge”

The Saudi Sports for All Federation announced its support for the Public Parks Community Sports Initiative, launched by the Ministry of Sport in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, a government-backed effort to encourage movement and physical activity.

At the heart of the Federation’s participation is the “Steps Challenge,” activated across its digital platforms to bridge real-world activity with digital engagement. This will inspire people from all walks of life to embrace a more active lifestyle in an accessible, inclusive environment.

The Managing Director of the Federation, Ms. Shaima Saleh AlHusseini, explained that the initiative aligns with the Federation’s approach to developing flexible and inclusive community programs. She added: “Through this initiative, we aim to encourage the community to integrate movement into their daily routines through an accessible experience that combines public spaces with digital engagement.”

The initiative focuses on increasing participation in physical activities, raising participants’ step counts, and linking in-park activities to an interactive digital experience through the “Steps Challenge.” The drive targets families, youth, beginners in physical activity, and visitors to public parks through flexible activities that accommodate different ages and abilities.

The “Individual Steps Challenge” will be activated across several Riyadh public parks, including Al-Taif Park, Al Kanari Park, Al Yaqot Park, Al-Deem Park, and Al-Sahab Park. The initiative will also include awareness and informational content and encouraging community participation through the app.
