Users can win prizes with SFA Rewards, which is open to people of all ages and abilities who use the Federation’s mobile app
The first 10 winners of the Saudi Sports for All Federation’s new rewards program have been selected, each winning by collecting points on the organization’s mobile app.
The program, SFA Rewards, was launched in November with the aim of inspiring users to build healthy habits. Each month, the Federation announces 10 prize-winners from among registered users: five based on their performance, taken from the app’s leaderboards, and five who are drawn from a raffle.
Prizes worth a total of SAR 5,000 were shared by the 10 winners, with the next set of winners to be announced in January, and again every month moving forward.
Based around gamification, SFA Rewards allows users to collect points by performing various activities through the SFA app. The more points you earn, the higher you rank on the program’s leaderboard, which increases your chances of being among the monthly prize-winners.
Users can win points for four main actions: signing up to SFA Rewards, joining an SFA event, joining a Community Sports Group (CSG), and joining a CSG event. After registering, users can see information about featured events and Group events, including the date, time and location, and how many points are on offer.
Users receive points when you check-in to events, with the app helping to ensure that you don’t miss them with notifications and location maps. Points can be tracked through your account profile, which also lists your upcoming events, the Groups you are a member of, and personalized event recommendations. A separate points page highlights your total points, as well as your points history.
Your profile also shows where you are placed on the leaderboards, with different leaderboard categories for you to join. A dedicated leaderboard page details where you and all other competitors are ranked, and how many points each person has. You can share your ranking with friends by email or over social media.
Each month, the app will showcase the rewards that are on offer, plus a list of the winners as soon as they have been announced.
SFA Rewards builds on the beta version of the app, which launched in July on Android an iOS platforms. It is part of the Federation’s wider digitization strategy and in line with Vision 2030’s Quality of Life program, which identifies digitizing the sports sector as key to ensuring physical fitness opportunities are available to all.
The launch of the app was the second benchmark the SFA has met in terms of facilitating community level sports participation through technology. The first was the execution and launch of the SFA’s Healthy Living portal in mid-March, supported by the Ministry of Sports and Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee.
The portal contains a wealth of material focused on making wellness accessible to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, addressing physical fitness and activities, nutrition, general wellbeing advice, and suggestions on how to live a healthy and active lifestyle through easy and achievable action plans.
