App users can reap the benefits of the SFA Rewards program based on participation and continuous channel engagement

The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) has launched a dynamic new rewards program on its mobile app, giving users of all ages and abilities the opportunity to win prizes through its digital platforms.

With gamification at its core, SFA Rewards allows users to collect points by performing various activities on the SFA app. The more points you earn, the higher you rank on the program’s leaderboards, with a wide range of prizes including gadgets, gift cards and more on offer to participants.

Inspiring users to build healthy habits and engage in more physical activity, the app offers points for four main actions: signing-up to SFA Rewards, joining an SFA event, joining a Community Sports Group (CSG), and joining a CSG event.

After going through the simple registration process – and earning your first points in the process – you will be able to see information about featured events and your Groups’ events, including the date, time and location, and how many points are on offer for joining.

You will be given confirmation of your points once you check-in to the event itself, with the app helping to ensure that you don’t miss it thanks to notifications and location maps.

The app makes it easy for you to keep track of your points through your account profile, which also lists your upcoming events, the Groups you are a member of, and personalized event recommendations. A separate points page highlights your total points, as well as your points history.

Your profile also shows where you are placed on the leaderboards, with different leaderboard categories for you to join. A dedicated leaderboard page details where you and all other competitors are ranked, and how many points each person has, making it easy for you to see how clear you are at the top of the list, or how many points you need in order to get there. You can share your ranking with friends by email or over social media.

Each month, the app will showcase the rewards that are on offer, plus a list of the winners as soon as they have been announced. The rewards are designed to enhance your wellbeing experience, including fitness-tech and gift cards.

There will be 10 winners per month; five of which are taken from the leaderboard with the remaining five drawn from a raffle, meaning everybody has the potential to be a winner.

SFA Rewards builds on the beta version of the app, which was launched across Android and iOS platforms in July this year as part of the Federation’s wider digitization strategy.

Under Vision 2030’s Quality of Life program, digitizing the sports sector is key to facilitating inclusive physical fitness opportunities for all, prompting the SFA’s decision to launch and continually grow the app. Speaking at the time, SFA President, HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, said: “The SFA mobile app will allow more people than ever to access real-time information on health and wellness, events for all fitness levels and how they can participate, and facilitate the success and growth of our community sports groups.

“One of the most important aspects of this app is that it will allow startups and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to enjoy smoother event-planning processes, thereby shoring up and further contributing to the local sports economy.”

The launch marked the second benchmark met in terms of facilitating community level sports participation through technology; the first being the execution and launch of the SFA’s Healthy Living portal in mid-March, alongside other initiatives supported by the Ministry of Sports and Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee.

The Healthy Living portal serves as a trove of material focused on making wellness accessible to all, addressing physical fitness and activities, conscientious nutrition choices and information, general well-being advice, and suggestions on how to live a healthy and active lifestyle through easy and achievable action plans.
