The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) has set November 17, 2020, as the launch date of the community Women’s Football League (WFL) in three cities of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, after the postponement of the league due to the pandemic.

607 from 24 teams are set to participate in the tournament. Teams in Jeddah and Riyadh have been divided into two groups in each city, while the Dammam competition will be held in a single group format.

The teams will compete in their respective cities before participating in the final nationwide championship stage, where the championship cup and tournament prizes will be awarded. The total prize pool allocated for the league is SAR 500,000.

The WFL organizing committee has made all the necessary preparations to adhere to the safety protocols as per the precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Sports.

Through the WFL, the SFA strives to empower women and to encourage them to become active and to participate in sports at the community level.

As a vertical of Vision 2030’s Quality of Life program and Ministry of Sports, the SFA is committed to encouraging men, women, boys and girls of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to build healthy and active habits.
