The program is set to active 12 Neighborhood Clubs across nine different regions of the Kingdom
In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Saudi Sports for All Federation launched today the official inauguration of the first center with the Neighborhood Clubs in Riyadh city, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, SFA President and Advisor to HRH Minister of Sport, and the Deputy of Public Education from the Ministry of Education, Dr. Mohammed Al-Moqbel, Assistant Minister for Sports Affairs Mr. Abdulaziz Baeshen, Deputy Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Mr. Abdulaziz Almasad, Head of Delivery Sector Mr. Khaled Albaker, the SFA Managing Director, Ms. Shaima Saleh Alhusseini, and a number of attendees from the relevant entities and working teams.
The Neighborhood Clubs aims to provide a variety of events and activities, that suit all individuals with different physical abilities and levels of body fitness. The initial phase is scheduled to include the launch of 12 centers in 9 cities. Namely: Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Hail, Qassim, Taif, Khamis Mushait, Tabuk and Jizan, with an expansion plan throughout this year to activate more Neighborhood Clubs across different regions around the Kingdom
“The activation of the Neighborhood Clubs constitutes a part of the Federation’s efforts to support the regular practice of sports and physical activity by all members of society. In pursuit of the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 through the Quality of Life Program with the view of achieving one of its strategic goals, which is to promote the practice of sport activities in the community,” said on this occasion President of SFA, HRH Prince Khalid bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud.
Prince Khaled added saying: “Cooperation and joint efforts with the Ministry of Education in activating the Neighborhood Clubs is very essential to the promotion of community and grass root sports. All organized sport events and activities are designed to be suitable for all members of society and should be within close proximity of their residency, which will be through maximizing the utilization of many facilities owned by the Ministry of Education and activating relevant programs that serve the community and increase the rates of regular exercise, under the full supervision of the Saudi Sports for All Federation.”
For his part, Deputy of Public Education from the Ministry of Education, Dr. Mohammed Al-Moqbel stated: “This partnership with the Saudi Sports for All Federation contributes towards activating Ministry of Education facilities across all the regions of the Kingdom to be vibrant and active beyond official working hours. The Neighborhood Clubs will be close to its residents with various sporting events and activities that cater for all members of society from all physical abilities.”
All visitors and members of the community can register to the Neighborhood Clubs program via the website (https://www.nc-sfa.com/), where the membership categories are divided into five categories. The daily ticket which is available for all ages at the value of 10 SAR, the monthly subscription for children of 5 to 15 years with the value of 40 SAR, the youth category for ages above 15 years with the value of monthly subscription at 60 SAR, the small family consisting of a guardian and two children or less with the value of monthly subscription at 120 SAR, and the large family consisting of a guardian and more than two children, for whom the value of monthly subscription is 200 SAR. The fees collected by SFA will be re-invested to further develop the sports infrastructure and sustainability.
In essence, the Neighborhood Clubs contributes to the promotion of sports and physical activities for all members of the society on a regular basis. These clubs will give them easy and comfortable access to the various public facilities for practicing sports. Furthermore, the establishment of activities and events that are of a sport, recreational and educational nature will attract the residents of the neighborhood and community members to these centers as well promote voluntary initiatives to develop their skills and work abilities.
The Saudi Sports for All Federation is intensifying many of its efforts, with the support of the Ministry of Sport, in launching several initiatives and events at the beginning of this year 2022, to contribute for the achievement of the Quality of Life Program objectives, which is increasing the levels of physical activity among the population on a regular basis to reach 40% by the year 2030.
