The agreement will see the SFA work with the foundation to boost healthy practices and contribute to the goals of Vision 2030

The Saudi Sports for All Federation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Al-Manahil Foundation to help inspire a culture of wellbeing among its employees and the numerous businesses it supports.

With more than 85 small and medium-sized enterprises under its umbrella, the foundation provides administrative, financial and technical support to Saudi entrepreneurs.

The MoU will see the SFA work with the foundation to increase the spread of healthy and active practices across its teams and organizations, with the help of Al Manahil Fitness Centre, located in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

By signing the agreement, the two entities are contributing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of creating a vibrant society with fulfilling lives and promoting physical and social wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle.

The partnership also helps the SFA get closer to delivering on its mandate, issued by Vision 2030’s Quality of Life program, of increasing regular participation in physical activity to 40% by 2030.

With support from the Ministry of Sport  and the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee and Quality of Life Program, the SFA has launched, hosted and facilitated a number of events and initiatives aimed and boosting the health of the nation, such as the Start Now campaign, as well as Step Together, Move to Game, the Women’s Community Football League, and a country-wide cricket tournament.

The Federation has also held online events and initiatives, such as Baytak Nadeek, and launched an app last year to make participation easier for everybody no matter their age, gender, background and ability.

By on-boarding public and private sector organizations and encouraging their teams to stay fit and active, the SFA is also focusing on corporate wellness; helping to build a more holistic health and fitness picture across Saudi Arabia.

Corporate wellbeing not only benefits employees, but also the companies themselves, with an increase in productivity and a reduction in absenteeism among the various advantages of a health-minded workplace culture.
