Saudi Sports for All Federation Highlights the Kingdom’s Progress in Physical Activity and Well-being at LEAP 2026

The Saudi Sports for All Federation highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to leverage physical activity to promote health, well-being, and quality of life during its participation in the fifth edition of LEAP 2026, held in Riyadh from August 31 to September 3, 2026.

The Federation’s Managing Director, Shaima Saleh AlHusseini, participated in a fireside chat titled Sport for Good: Building a National Culture of Well-Being on September 2 as part of LEAP’s Sports Hub. Moderated by Peter Hutton, Board Member of the Saudi Pro League, the session highlighted the Federation’s strategy and initiatives to increase physical activity levels, strengthen community participation, and promote healthy lifestyles in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Commenting on her participation, AlHusseini said: “SFA is building an integrated ecosystem that drives sustainable behavioral change through inclusive initiatives that enhance physical and mental well-being and empower community members to adopt more active lifestyles.”

She added: “As a global platform that celebrates innovation, ambition, and creative ideas, LEAP 2026 embodies the Kingdom’s vision of bringing together sports, technology, and community; an approach the Federation has embraced since its establishment in 2018.”

AlHusseini also highlighted the Kingdom’s significant progress in physical activity levels. In 2018, 13% of the population met the national physical activity threshold in place at the time. By 2025, 59.1% of adults aged 18 and above were meeting the international standard of 150 minutes of physical activity per week, reflecting the Kingdom’s continued progress in promoting more active lifestyles.

As part of its participation in the event, the Saudi Sports for All Federation launched the LEAP Steps Challenge, a location-based challenge designed to engage visitors and encourage physical activity. Running throughout the four-day event from August 31 to September 3, the challenge set participants a daily goal of 10,000 steps.

The fifth edition of LEAP 2026, held from August 31 to September 3, brought together more than 600 startups, 1,000 speakers, 1,800 global technology brands, and 1,900 investors, alongside more than 201,000 visitors from around the world.

The Sports Hub brought together leaders from the sports and technology sectors, alongside major announcements, live showcases, and immersive experiences exploring the future of sports performance, fan engagement, and the business of sport.
