Supported by the Saudi SFA, the Inter-School Plastic Monster Competition takes place on March 13

Hejaz Ploggers announces the Inter-School Plastic Monster Competition on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Jeddah Corniche. The competition, supported by the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), aims to bridge together environmental awareness and physical activity.

The Hejaz Ploggers are an environmentally conscious sports group that have been plogging since 2018, and now invite Jeddah youth to join the effort scheduled to take place at the Jeddah Corniche.

What is Plogging? If this is the first time you’ve heard about Plogging, don’t worry you are not alone. Plogging is a fairly recent phenomenon combining jogging with collecting litter. The Hejaz Ploggers intend to reach out to local schools to encourage students to help collect the discarded plastics, and then use it to create art- an imaginary artwork “monster”.

Join us at the beach on March 13 for an exciting day of jogging and beach clean-up! Onsite, you’ll also be able to enjoy some of the food trucks and other vendors, so invite your friends and family to join in on the fun! The event, beginning at 4:00 pm, is open to schools and families involved until 6;:00 pm. After 6:00 pm, the display area is open to the public.
